HEX HAVOC!

Collaborative Studio

Hex Havoc is a dynamic and engaging tabletop
game designed for families and friends. It fosters
lively interaction and friendly competition, all
enhanced by an element of strategic chaos.

Summary:

My team was prompted to brainstorm, produce and
sella marketable product by the end of the semester—
one designed to attract attention and genuinely engage potential customers. My role during the process was
to assist with a visual identity system, digitally build
out the 3D structure of the game, and develop a
promotional video.

Design Role and Process

My partners and I explored material, functionality, and assembly solutions integrated with appeal. Once the foundation was established, we all assisted with the construction of the game while experimenting with brand elements based on the structure of our shape. Through rounds of user-testing, we developed a unit of a hexagon-base combined with pucks and interchangeable center pieces. I lastly developed a promotional video that incorporated a 3D replication of our design to demonstrate the game play.

To develop our product my team and I problem solved the mechanics and functionality of our game. We considered tabletop size, player amount, positioning, challenges and environment. Through a research phase we bench marked existing games and delved into the minds of our potential consumers. Together, we worked for a solution that was intuitive and flexible with engaging levels of hierarchy.
